WHO WE ARE

Tom and Vilma are native Tampanians and YborCitians whose grandparents immigrated here from Italy, Spain and Cuba at the dawn of the twentieth century.

Tom’s grandfather, after short stints as a barber and shoemaker, eventually, sold produce from his own horse-drawn wagon on the streets of Ybor.
Vilma’s grandfather served an integral role in that unique system of “mutual aid societies”, as a door-to-door “Collector” of weekly membership dues for El Centro Asturiano (a full-time position at that time).

It is this unique nexus to Tampa and Ybor’s roots that has made them so passionate about sharing the intriguing history and culture of this very special “Port of Arrival” in “La America”.

WHAT WE DO

Our tours usually include visiting two or more historic sites and may last from two to three hours.

You will be personally escorted through the historic buildings or sites.  Your may also choose to include a narrated riding tour of one of the other historic areas and neighborhoods of Tampa.
Our primary service is the providing of knowledgeable “step-on guides” who will join you on your bus and escort you on an itinerary that has been tailored to fit your interests as you have related them to us when booking the tour.

Seasonal Walking Tours are available (weather permitting) for a minimum number of 10 persons at $17.00 per person or a minimum of $170.00 per walking tour (Tip not included). Walking Tours are up to 90 minutes and may include a stop for a cup of “café con leche” along the way.

A deposit will be required to hold your tour date and is only refundable according to the terms of the contract.

Senior and School group discounts are available.

Fees estimated by CHT are based on: group size,length of tour and number of guides needed. There is a minimum fee for groups smaller than twenty. If there is a cancellation,a deposit holds your date and is refundable for up to ten days prior to the initial tour date.
A gratuity of 15% per guide is greatly appreciated

WEATHER IS ALWAYS A FACTOR THAT IS BEYOND OUR CONTROL AND IS NEVER A REASON FOR A REFUND.

We will, however, make every reasonable effort to make any possible adjustments in the itinerary or the schedule to accommodate for inclement weather
